After EL, I went across the street to MSU, double majored in journalism and English, wound up teaching HS English at Holt and coaching basketball in DeWitt. I later spent five years coaching small college basketball, including two years in Rangely, Colorado -- probably the most desolate place in the USA; seriously . . Mapquest it! Now back to the HS level the in Cincinnati area for the last 5 years. Of course, I'm still a die-hard Spartan fan! My wife Jena teaches HS science and coaches soccer. Our daughter Abby is about to turn 2 and full of energy! Back in the 90s, I played in tons of Gus Macker basketball tourneys, winning one with Jack Holtzer and Pat Howley as teammates. In the last few years, I've run in a few marathons and short tri-athlons.

A few HS memories: Trying to play football freshman year and getting pounded! Cross country and marching band initiations, races and performances, finally making the baseball team, Vance Hamilton's teaching style, and falling asleep in 1st period math class and waking up to find out it was 2nd period! Fast food runs at lunch, Doc Graeber's unprepared notices, donating pop cans to Ms. Pulley, senior year TP wars, and most of all lots of fun with great friends.
